Kasper Dolberg faces the end of the season after a knee injury

On the grass of the Danish national team's training centre, Kasper Dolberg collapsed, his knee swollen with blood. The former Anderlecht player, 28, was taken care of immediately, doctors mentioning a possible cruciate ligament tear.

Uncertain diagnosis and prognosis from Yves Taildeman

The definitive diagnosis is delayed, the fluid persisting in the joint complicating the examination. If the injury turns out to be a cruciate ligament tear, Dolberg's season would be over, according to specialists.

Yves Taildeman, analyst specialized in Anderlecht and the Red Devils, said the Danish player would be absent for several months. “Kasper Dolberg will be out for several months,” he affirmed.

Dolberg has already returned to Ajax, where he reclaimed the starting spot, relegating Tolu Arokodare to the bench. This season, the Danish player has scored three goals and provided three assists, across all competitions.

His injury has deprived him of any participation with Brian Riemer's Danish national team. Denmark lost two matches, in Norway and at home against Portugal, before winning two games against Wales.

If the verdict confirms a cruciate ligament tear, Dolberg will miss the rest of the campaign in the Jupiler Pro League and in Europe, affecting both his club and the manager's ambitions.
