Klopp launches aggressive pressing against the Netherlands in Amsterdam
Jürgen Klopp celebrated his debut as head coach of the German national team in a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands at the Amsterdam Arena. The German eleven had to concede the equaliser late, but already left first interesting impressions for the fresh start.
Aggressive Pressing from the Start
Right from the kickoff the DFB‑selection wanted to prove something and displayed a high work rate and running intensity. Klopp's style approaches were quickly recognizable: the German players chased the Dutch across the field and tried to press aggressively. As a result, the Oranje rarely got clear build‑up phases and controlled possession.
The DFB‑eleven repeatedly put pressure on the Dutch and stayed intense off the ball. After quick ball recoveries they pushed into the area of the Dutch penalty box, with Karim Adeyemi especially eager to run and trying to regain possession immediately after losing the ball.
Killer Instinct Despite Controversies
After the opening goal by Felix Nmecha the Germans continued recklessly, even though the Dutch pointed out the injured Brian Brobbey. The team therefore displayed their footballing killer instinct and did not shy away from conflicts in the duel. Thus the match remained exciting despite the Dutch complaints.
However, the style of play was still more characterised by pure willingness to work and the desire to prove something than by clear automatisms. Implementing Klopp's idea still needs time, but the intensity and passion shown suggest a promising fresh start.

Another noteworthy detail was that the duel in Amsterdam was not a cuddle kick, but a fiery encounter of two old rivals under bright spotlights. The German team accepted the challenge and faced the hosts with broad chest.
In the end the German eleven had to accept the late equaliser from the Netherlands, so the match ended with a fairly deserved 1-1. Despite this setback the team already showed clear ideas for the upcoming season.
Overall it can be concluded that the aggressive pressing and high intensity under Klopp are promising, even though the tactical maturity is still lacking. The first three insights from the debut give cause for an optimistic outlook.
