Lamine Yamal appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador at 18

Lamine Yamal, 18, has been named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. The appointment makes him one of the youngest ambassadors in UNICEF history. It reinforces the nearly two‑decade link between FC Barcelona, the Barça Foundation and UNICEF.

Yamal has collaborated with UNICEF since 2024 on awareness campaigns aimed at younger audiences. In his new role he will promote children’s rights, especially the right to play, and support children affected by conflicts, natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

The winger, a product of La Masia, is already a key figure for FC Barcelona and for Spain despite his age. His influence extends beyond the pitch, making him a role model for millions of young fans.
