Mathis Albert seeks more playing time at Dortmund after record debut
Mathis Albert, the 17‑year‑old striker from South Carolina, is in the spotlight for more playing time at Borussia Dortmund, after he made his Bundesliga debut under coach Kovač in April last year, becoming the youngest American to play in the German top league and is expected.
Through his father, a call‑up for France would be possible, through his mother for Germany. In April he replaced Gio Reyna and this season has only had one first‑team appearance in the DFB Cup success against HEBC Hamburg.
He made his senior debut for the USA in the September‑October window and surpassed Christian Pulisic by scoring the youngest goal for his country on 29 September in the 4‑2 win against Chile at 17 years and 131 days old.
