Milan locks up Norwegian forward Sara Kanutte Fornes on nine-year deal

AC Milan have completed the permanent signing of Norwegian forward Sara Kanutte Fornes from Malmö FF. The 22‑year‑old will join the Rossoneri on a contract that runs until 30 June 2029, as part of the club's summer recruitment drive. She will wear the number 9 shirt for Milan.

The agreement secures Fornes at the club for nine years, providing Milan with a long‑term option in attack. Milan confirmed she will take the iconic number 9 jersey, signalling confidence in her goal‑scoring pedigree.

Born on 1 December 2001 on the island of Gossen near Molde, Fornes began her football journey with Gossen Idrettslag. She made her senior debut at 15 in Norway’s Third Division with SK Træff, netting an impressive 50 goals in just 27 appearances.

A move to Rosenborg BK Women saw her Toppserien debut in 2018 and contributed to the club’s consistent top‑half finishes. In 2023 she transferred to Hammarby IF in Sweden before being loaned to IFK Norrköping, where she became the leading scorer with 11 goals in 23 matches. The following year she completed a permanent switch to Malmö FF Women, further sharpening her profile in the Swedish league.

For Milan, the signing adds a proven finisher with a record of high conversion rates, bolstering their attacking depth ahead of the new season. Fornes gains the platform of Serie A to develop alongside elite talent and compete at the highest European level. Her experience with Norway’s youth national teams also offers the Rossoneri a potential future senior international.
