OGC Nice Moise Bombito faces months out after tibia surgery

OGC Nice Moise Bombito (26) has confirmed he will undergo further surgery on the tibia injury that sidelined him since the start of October, meaning he faces several months out of action for the French club.

Tibial fracture against AS Monaco

Bombito suffered a broken tibia in a match against AS Monaco at the start of October 2025, a injury that kept him from featuring again for Nice last season. The severity of the fracture meant he missed the remainder of the Ligue 1 campaign.

After the injury, he returned to training with Nice but was omitted from the matchday squad for the opening Ligue 1 fixture against FC Lorient, with recurring pain in his tibia cited as the reason.

World Cup involvement and upcoming lay‑off

Despite his club woes, Bombito made Canada’s FIFA World Cup squad and started in their Round of 16 defeat to Morocco, playing at his home World Cup albeit not fully fit.

Speaking to Nice’s official channels, Bombito described his World Cup experience as “his body fighting against his heart”, adding that his heart ultimately won as he managed to play.

Following medical tests on Tuesday, the club confirmed he will undergo another round of surgery on the tibia. Nice‑Matin reports the procedure will keep him out for several months, extending his period on the sidelines.
