Osvaldo in intensive care: critical condition in Argentina
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, former striker of the Italian national team, was urgently admitted on Thursday evening around 11 p.m. to the intensive‑care unit of the municipal hospital of Llavallol, in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires province, with a confidential diagnosis, after having asked for help by phone.
The news was spread by the LAM programme, which quoted journalist Pepe Ochoa. Ochoa said: “He had been very ill for days, he had pus and fluid in his lungs, he suffered a pleural effusion.”
Osvaldo was taken to the hospital by one of his sisters, assisted by a friend, after having asked for help by phone. The medical centre confirmed the admission on Thursday night.
Osvaldo’s career numbers
In Italy he wore the blue shirt in fourteen matches, scoring four goals. He won one league title with Juventus and totals forty‑one goals in one hundred and twenty‑four Serie A appearances, twenty goals in forty‑three Liga matches and three goals in thirteen Premier League games.
During his career he played for Juventus, Inter, Roma, Atalanta, Bologna, Lecce and Fiorentina, later returning to wear the Bologna shirt in a second spell.
After retiring in 2020, Osvaldo moved to Banfield, where he devotes himself to music. He is the singer and guitarist of the band “Barrio Viejo”, which has performed several shows in Argentina.
