PSG transfer: Nico Williams poised to replace Kvaratskhelia

The PSG transfer market is already heating up as Paris Saint-Germain are left without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, injured to the ankle of his right knee. The Georgian international, out of action for several months, is prompting supporters to name his successor. An online poll revealed the favourite.
Kvaratskhelia injury and need for reinforcement
Kvaratskhelia is indeed unavailable due to a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, which will keep him off the pitch for several months. Faced with this loss, Paris Saint-Germain are looking to bolster their attack in the upcoming winter transfer window. The executives have already identified several targets.
Among the names mentioned are Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Ibrahim Maza (Bayer Leverkusen), Saïd El Mala (Cologne), Paris Brunner (AS Monaco), Alphadjo Cissé (AC Milan) and Estêvão (Chelsea). These profiles range from promising young talent to an established player at the highest level. Luis Enrique could thus have an additional option as early as January.
The Parisian manager is primarily looking for pace, power and creativity on the wings, qualities that the two wingers favored in the poll possess. An offensive reinforcement would help offset the Georgian's absence and keep the club competitive in Ligue 1 and Europe. The final decision will, however, depend on PSG's ability to invest.

Supporters' poll and favourite
The club launched a poll on the X network to gauge the preference of Parisian supporters. The question asked was “Who should PSG recruit to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia?”. The responses were tallied and published on 27 October 2026.
Nico Williams tops the poll with 45.5 % of the votes, ahead of Estêvão (27.3 %) and Ibrahim Maza (18.2 %). The “another player” option gathers only 9.1 % of the votes. Overall, the two wingers account for nearly 73 % of the votes, showing a clear preference for offensive profiles.
It remains to be seen whether PSG's executives will follow the supporters' view and make a significant investment this winter. The final choice could shape the club's attack as early as January and influence the title race in France and Europe.
