RAAL La Louvière bets €500k on versatile Senegalese midfielder

🇧🇪
Senegalese midfielder Mame Wade has joined Belgian side RAAL La Louvière from SC Austria Lustenau for €500,000, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2028. The 23‑year‑old helped Austria Lustenau capture the Austrian second‑division championship before moving to Belgium. RAAL La Louvière identified Wade for his physical stature and ability to operate across the midfield, qualities that match the club’s desire for greater impact in duels. His big gabarit and strong personality were highlighted as fitting the team’s style. Selected in the league’s team of the season, Wade featured in 27 matches, netted seven goals and provided five assists, demonstrating both scoring and creative ability. In a club communiqué, RAAL La Louvière described him as a player capable of projecting himself, adding that his profile could perfectly correspond to the Louviérois. Before Austria Lustenau, Wade spent a season at FC Wacker, making a single appearance, and earlier was on loan at FC ŠTK 1914 Šamorín where he played two matches. He was also on the books of DAC Dunajská Streda in the Slovak top flight but did not establish himself. Wade’s football education began at Gambinos Stars in Gambia, an academy linked to Bayern Munich and Los Angeles FC through the Red&Gold Football project. For RAAL La Louvière, the signing adds a versatile, physically imposing midfielder to aid their ambitions in the Belgian league. For Wade, the move offers regular playing time and a platform to build on his recent breakthrough.
