Raphinha backs Vinicius Jr. to win World Cup for Brazil
Barcelona forward Raphinha said Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. can decide a match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and bring home Brazil's sixth title. Raphinha included himself among the players he believes can contribute.
The 29‑year‑old endured a season disrupted by injuries but remained one of Barcelona's most influential attacking players when fit. He now turns his focus to Brazil's World Cup preparations.
Raphinha highlighted the need for experienced players to guide younger squad members. He added that Brazil must work hard on defence and that solid defending raises their chances of winning.
He described the tournament as short and treacherous with little time to organise. Raphinha said the team is trying to adapt quickly to avoid costly mistakes.
Raphinha praised national team manager Carlo Ancelotti, noting the coach is very happy with what he brings to training and matches. He also said he is still searching for his best form.
Despite having been rivals in Spain, Raphinha said he built a good relationship with Ancelotti. He concluded that the partnership remains positive.
