Real Madrid extends Bellingham to mid-2031 with a hefty salary rise
Jude Bellingham has, according to Fabrizio Romano, early Tuesday morning confirmed that he is extending his contract with Real Madrid until mid‑2031, giving him two extra years beyond his current agreement. The 23‑year‑old Englishman, who has been playing in the Spanish capital since 2023, will therefore be under contract for three more seasons after his current term ends in 2029.
Financial terms and performance figures
In addition to the extension, Bellingham receives an improved salary package; various reputable media report that his annual salary will rise to around €30 million. Since his arrival he has played 150 matches, scoring 49 goals and providing 36 assists, figures that make him one of the team's key leaders.
Contract negotiations and broader context
The talks started around the end of the previous season and an official announcement is expected within a few weeks. Real Madrid already paid €127 million to Borussia Dortmund in 2023 to bring Bellingham to Spain, an investment now reinforced by the new deal.
Arda Güler turns Real Madrid into a master of counter‑play
In the coming years the club sees Bellingham as one of the driving forces, a role he already fulfilled when he won the La Liga outright in his first season. The extension arrives at a time when other key players, such as Thibaut Courtois, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Arda Güler, also want to extend their contracts with the Royal.
According to Spanish media, Courtois could extend his contract until mid‑2028, allowing him to start a tenth season in Madrid. The Belgian has so far played 343 matches under the posts and kept a clean sheet 131 times, and holds two Champions‑League titles and four Spanish league titles.
Real Madrid lock in Jude Bellingham until 2031 to cement long‑term plan
With Bellingham's extension and the possible contract renewals of other core players, Real Madrid strengthens its long‑term strategy to retain a stable core of world‑class talent, enabling the club to remain competitive both domestically and internationally.
