Real Madrid's dead end for Endrick opens door to the Eredivisie

In the shadow of the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, the 20‑year‑old Brazilian Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa often sits alone on the bench, while the crowd waits for a breakthrough. According to multiple sources, he is now on a dead end at Real Madrid and is already linked to an Eredivisie club.

A season ago, Endrick performed quite well in Ligue 1 with Olympique Lyon, where he played on loan. The Brazilian scored and provided assists, leading the Dutch press to name him a promising talent.

Financial and playing statistics at Real Madrid

Real Madrid paid a sum of €47.5 million in the summer of 2024 to release Endrick from Palmeiras, but a real breakthrough at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu has not yet occurred. So far he has played 41 official matches for the Royal, without a regular place in the starting lineup.

In the preparation for the 2026‑2027 season, Endrick suffered a muscle injury; since then José Mourinho has used him for only four minutes. Even when Kylian Mbappé could not play, the Portuguese coach chose Jude Bellingham as a false number 9.

Possible return to the Eredivisie

An Eredivisie club, most likely PSV, is already strongly linked to the Brazilian. The club is struggling with attacking headaches due to injuries to Ricardo Pepi and Alassane Pléa, and a temporary arrival of Endrick would relieve the pressure on the infirmary and provide extra firepower.

AS Roma made an attractive offer this summer; the club sits at the top of Serie A and plays in the Champions League. When the agreement on a loan period was almost finalised, a conversation with Mourinho changed everything and the transfer fell through.

“The Portuguese coach asked the striker to stay. ‘I’m counting on you.’” according to the Spanish newspaper. Endrick, who has always dreamed of succeeding at Real Madrid, answered the call and decided to take on the challenge. He now wants to first see how the first part of the season unfolds.

Depending on his playing time and situation, he will reassess during the winter transfer window what the best option is for him. A possible move to the Eredivisie therefore remains a realistic scenario for the young striker.
