Real Madrid's right-wing void fuels obsession with Bayern's Olise

Real Madrid face a glaring shortage on the right flank, a position left vacant after recent departures. President Florentino Perez has publicly declared his obsession with Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, signalling the club’s intent to plug the void with the French star.

According to reports, Perez is prepared to allocate the entire transfer budget to secure Olise, underscoring the player’s status as Real Madrid’s dream target. The Frenchman, currently a Bayern Munich star, embodies the quality Perez believes can transform the attack.

Real Madrid recently issued an official statement distancing themselves from Olise, mirroring a similar notice about Enzo Fernandez. However, as journalist Fabrizio Romano points out, the wording differs: the club said it is ‘not in active negotiations’ with Olise, unlike the outright ‘not interested’ phrasing used for Fernandez.

The club’s phrasing, Romano explains, was intended to avoid upsetting Bayern Munich while keeping Olise within Los Blancos’ plans. By not declaring a lack of interest, Real Madrid leaves the door open for future talks.

Olise’s on‑field chemistry with fellow Frenchman Kylian Mbappe promises lethal attacking combinations for Madrid. Adding a right‑winger of his calibre would immediately boost the team’s offensive output, according to the analysis.

Despite the expressed obsession, no active negotiations have commenced, meaning Real Madrid must still persuade Bayern Munich and Olise’s representatives. The coming weeks will determine whether the club can convert its interest into a concrete deal.
