Rumor about Jürgen Klopp makes Toni Kroos smile

In the home studio of his podcast “Einfach mal Luppen”, Toni Kroos reflects on his 114‑time appearance for the German A national team, while a rumor about Jürgen Klopp, the new national team coach, provides a light‑hearted mood after two games without a win and a loss to Greece on Sunday evening.

Klopp allegedly contacted former national players by e‑mail

According to media reports, Jürgen Klopp had already, before his debut and the start as national team coach, asked former national players for support by e‑mail. The aim was to secure public backing before the first match begins.

Toni Kroos, however, did not receive any message. In his podcast he said: “I have also read about it, but nothing has come yet,” and added that he checked his inbox during the recording, but found nothing.

His brother Felix Kroos responded promptly and humorously doubted the rumor: “I would doubt that.” Toni added with a joke about Kevin Großkreutz: “He certainly got one from Kloppo, I’m sure of that.”

Both previously worked together at BVB and won the German championship there twice. This shared past is now being revisited in relaxed comments.
