The CR7 saga does not slow Portugal down in the Nations League

Portugal confirmed its invincibility in the Nations League by beating Norway 2-1, despite the media whirlwind surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo. Under the guidance of Jorge Jesus, the men of the Seleçao recorded their fourth consecutive win, taking their total to twelve points and securing their place in the quarter‑finals.

The Seleçao were first caught off guard in the 36th minute by Kristoffer Ajer's superb goal. Two minutes later, Joao Cancela responded with a magnificent volley rebound, equalising. Gonçalo Ramos sealed the result in the 79th minute, delivering the win to Portugal. The incident surrounding CR7 did not distract the collective.

Meanwhile, Denmark took advantage of the option offered to qualify, beating Wales 1-0, thereby securing its second ticket ahead of the November fixtures.

The group tightens around the Netherlands and Greece

The group that played this Sunday evening saw the Netherlands join Greece at the top with eight points each. The the Oranje beat Serbia 2-1 thanks to Toon Koopmeiners in the 31st minute and Joshua Zirkzee in the 72nd, after Mihajlo Cvetkovic equalised in the 35th.

For its part, Greece earned a point against Germany, the match ending in a 0-0 draw despite 70 % ball possession. Germany, under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp, remains on five points, lying in wait.
