UEFA's massive prize pool reshapes Champions League earnings

UEFA has unveiled the Champions League prize structure, guaranteeing every club €18.620 million for playing the group stage while also providing performance‑based payments and a Value Pillar that can boost earnings by millions. In contrast, clubs that win or draw matches receive additional sums, and their final league position adds further bonuses.

Prize distribution for the group stage

UEFA announced that every club reaching the group stage will receive a total of €18.620 million. The amount is split into an initial payment of €17.870 million followed by a second tranche of €750 000.

In addition, clubs earn €2.100 million for each victory and €700 000 for each draw earned during the Fase Liga. These performance payments are added to the base allocation.

A further positional bonus starts at €275 000 for the last‑placed team and increases by the same amount for each higher spot. Consequently, the league leader receives €275 000 multiplied by 36, equalling €9.900 million.

Teams finishing between first and eighth place are awarded an extra €2 million, while those placed ninth to sixteenth receive €1 million. These bonuses are paid on top of the earlier allocations.

The third component, called the Value Pillar, varies according to each country’s audiovisual market combined with the club’s European coefficients. The official UEFA document lists the PREMIOS EN CADA FASE DE LA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, highlighting how DE values and the club’s market in Europa influence the payout.

The group‑stage draw took place on Thursday 27 June, producing fixtures such as Real Madrid‑Inter, Arsenal‑Real Madrid, Manchester City‑PSG and Liverpool‑Atlético de Madrid. These matchups set the stage for the upcoming competition.

Knock‑out stage rewards

Beyond the group stage, UEFA awards €11 million for reaching the round of 16, €12.5 million for the quarter‑finals, €15 million for the semi‑finals and €18.5 million for the final. The champion also receives a €6.5 million bonus for winning the final.
