Ukraine celebrates Lunin's save: Classic We are good
The Ukrainian Government reacted to the great save by Andriy Lunin, Real Madrid goalkeeper, last Sunday in the Clasico against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou, an intervention that proved decisive for the white side to achieve victory and move to just three points behind the leaders.
Wordplay with the defense
In a statement, the government added: “Ukrainians are quite good at holding the line”. They posted alongside the message the video released by Real Madrid that shows the goalkeeper's intervention, which kept the score at 1‑1 at a crucial moment of the match.
The post plays on the double meaning of the phrase, linking the goalkeeper's defense with Ukraine's resistance in its war conflict with Russia, which began in 2022.
Thus, Lunin's save became a protagonist beyond the pitch, highlighting his role in the victory of the team coached by José Mourinho.
Minutes after the save, Kylian Mbappé scored the second goal, sealing the 1‑2 that gave Real Madrid the victory.
The gesture underscores the connection the Ukrainian Government makes between sporting performance and national determination.
