Liverpool target Luis Enrique as Iraola talks progress

Liverpool sacked Arne Slot over the weekend. Brighton's Roberto Iraola is in early talks for the vacant manager role.

PSG manager Luis Enrique remains the preferred choice for many Liverpool fans. Enrique led Spain to Euro 2024 glory.

Iraola joined Brighton in 2023 after managing Bournemouth. He guided Bournemouth to a 10th-place finish in the 2022-23 Premier League.

The Liverpool board is expected to conduct further interviews this week. No final decision has been reached.

Enrique's contract with PSG runs until 2026. His release clause is reported at €50 million.

Liverpool's next Premier League match is away to Burnley on August 17.
