Wigan's defensive rebuild hinges on Dunfermline's Chilokoa-Mullen
Wigan Athletic have moved to plug a defensive void by securing 22‑year‑old centre‑back Jeremiah Chilokoa‑Mullen on a two‑year contract. The undisclosed fee follows a season in which the former Dunfermline defender netted two goals across 44 appearances in all competitions.
He logged 43 league appearances for the Pars after moving from Leeds in January 2025. He played as a defender for the Pars.
Under manager Neil Lennon, Chilokoa‑Mullen helped the side finish fourth in the Scottish Championship last season. The campaign also saw the Pars reach the Scottish Cup final.
He said, "The gaffer (Gary Caldwell) played in my position, so I can learn from him and receive individual tips," adding, "he will definitely help me". Caldwell, the Wigan manager, is expected to provide the mentorship Chilokoa‑Mullen highlighted.
Wigan Athletic announced the signing on a two‑year deal with an undisclosed transfer fee. The agreement was finalised in July 2026 as part of the club's summer recruitment.
All deals were completed in July 2026, marking the finalisation of Wigan's summer recruitment. His remarks were posted on the club website following the announcement.
