Yan Diomande outshines Güler – Real Madrid offers mega contract
Only Yan Diomande surpasses the young Real Madrid star: Arda Güler is close to a mega‑contract that will bind him to the Spanish club until at least 2031. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the agreement has already been reached, after the daily newspaper AS reported initial progress on Thursday.
Contract negotiations completed
Romano announced a few hours later that all details between the Royals and the side of the 21‑year‑old midfielder have been fully negotiated. With that, the agreement in the talks is finally sealed.
Duration of the new contract
The new working paper provides for a duration until at least 2031, while Romano speaks of a possible term until 2032. This extended commitment represents a significant step for the young Turkish striker.
Contrasts in the squad
In the squad, the Turkish Yan Diomande stands out, for whom Real Madrid spent 125 million euros in the summer and whose contract runs until 2033. Güler's new contract is thus the longest so far after Diomande.

Previous terms
The original contract that Güler signed in the summer of 2023 when he moved from Fenerbahçe ran until 2029. Real Madrid then paid a transfer fee of 28 million euros to the Turkish side.
Financial dimension
With a current market value of 90 million euros, Güler tops the ranking of the most valuable Turkish footballers. His previous, according to rumors, five‑million‑euro annual salary now receives a drastic increase.
Performance on the pitch
In the previous season, Güler played 51 league matches and recorded 20 goal involvements, gradually working his way into the starting eleven. His importance grew step by step within the team.
Start under Mourinho
Under the new head coach José Mourinho, Güler started in three of the first four league games in the starting lineup and scored a goal as well as an assist in each. In the Champions League, his involvement in the 2‑1 victory over Inter Milan was limited by a red‑card suspension from the previous season.
