Ibrahima Konate to leave Liverpool on free transfer
Ibrahima Konate will depart Liverpool when his contract expires in summer 2024 on a free transfer. The announcement confirms his five-year spell at Anfield will end.
Konate became a first‑team regular under manager Jurgen Klopp. He continued to feature after Arne Slot took over as head coach.
During his time at the club he collected a Premier League title, an FA Cup, two Carabao Cup trophies and the Community Shield. All those honours were won between 2021 and 2024.
He arrived from RB Leipzig in July 2021. The move marked his entry into English football.
Konate said he “gave everything I had for this badge” in his final season. The comment reflects his personal commitment to the Liverpool shirt.
As a free agent, Konate can negotiate with any club without a transfer fee. Liverpool will need to replace his centre‑back role for the upcoming campaign.
