Ethan Ampadu signs four-year Leeds United extension until 2030
Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu signed a new four-year contract tying him to Elland Road until 2030.
The Wales international confirmed his future at the club after resolving the final year of his previous deal. Since joining from Chelsea in 2023, Ampadu made 126 appearances and scored three goals for Leeds United.
Ampadu described the moment as “exciting times” ahead during his contract announcement. The 25-year-old midfielder emphasized his satisfaction with the agreement.
Elland Road’s sporting director Victor Orta welcomed the extension, highlighting Ampadu’s leadership as captain. Orta framed the deal as aligning with the club’s long-term project under head coach Daniel Farke.
The extension adds two years to the remaining term of Ampadu’s prior contract. Leeds United now retain the midfielder through summer 2030.
Farke praised Ampadu’s professionalism and influence on the pitch. The head coach noted the midfielder’s consistency and tactical understanding in training and matches.
