San Mamés, Anoeta each host two World Cup 2030 games
San Mamés will host only two group-stage matches of the 2030 World Cup, down from an earlier plan of four. Anoeta will also host two matches under the same Basque joint bid.
The previously planned elimination-round fixtures at San Mamés have been removed from the proposal. The removal reduces the total number of matches allocated to the venue.
The Basque joint bid pairs the Anoeta and San Mamés stadiums as shared venues for the tournament. Both stadiums are located in the Basque region of Spain.
With each stadium now set to hold two group matches, the allocation is balanced between them. No other venues were mentioned in the revised plan.
The schedule revision aligns with the bid's streamlined format. The changes were announced ahead of the final bid submission.
The exact dates and opponents for the matches will be confirmed after FIFA releases the official tournament calendar. Stakeholders will monitor the allocation as the World Cup approaches.
