Anthony Martial leaves Monterrey after 20 games

Anthony Martial and Monterrey have agreed to end their partnership one year early. Martial joined the Mexican side in September on a two‑year deal that ran to 2027 with an optional extra year. Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the mutual termination. Martial made 20 appearances for Monterrey, scoring once and providing three assists. His season was disrupted by a dislocated shoulder suffered in February during a clash with Club Leon. He was taken off the field on a stretcher because of the injury. Martial’s final match came on 18 March in the second leg of Monterrey’s CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16 against Cruz Azul. Monterrey lost the tie 4‑3 on aggregate. During his stint he played alongside Sergio Ramos and previously spent a season at AEK Athens, scoring nine goals in 23 games. The 30‑year‑old forward is now a free agent and will seek his third club since leaving Manchester United in 2024. His departure leaves him available for any suitor ahead of the next transfer window.
