Aston Villa target Paris Saint-Germain striker Ibrahim Mbaye and keeper Lucas Chevalier
Aston Villa are close to signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Ibrahim Mbaye.
The club are also weighing a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.
Villa identified Mbaye as a potential target before the end of last season.
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s best teenage strikers and is a regular for Senegal.
He is expected to feature at the upcoming summer World Cup.
Mbaye broke into Paris Saint-Germain’s first team in 2024 and became the youngest player to start a game for the club.
He made 31 appearances across all competitions last term, starting only 11.
At Villa, he would face competition from Ollie Watkins and Tammy Abraham.
Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign a new striker, with Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi linked to the club.
A transfer for Chevalier could hinge on the future of Emiliano Martinez, who is on Juventus’ radar.
Chevalier joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma, who moved to Manchester City.
After a series of unconvincing performances, Chevalier was supplanted by Matvey Safonov.
Villa are also evaluating Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford as an option.
