Atalanta BC dismisses Raffaele Palladino, eyes Maurizio Sarri
Atalanta BC have officially terminated the contract of head coach Raffaele Palladino after 39 matches. The club said the move clears the way for Maurizio Sarri to take over.
Atalanta thanked Palladino and his coaching staff for their commitment and professionalism. Palladino had been appointed on 11 November 2025 to replace Ivan Juric, with a contract running to June 2027.
He inherited a side low in the Serie A table and steered them to a sixth‑place finish, securing a spot in next season’s Conference League. His record comprised 18 wins, eight draws and 13 defeats, plus a Champions League run that ended against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 and a Coppa Italia semi‑final loss on penalties to Lazio.

Sarri’s official announcement is expected in the coming days once contractual formalities are completed. The club indicated the new direction under Sarri does not align with continuing Palladino’s tenure.
