Barcelona's €30m Rashford buy option expires June 15
FC Barcelona's €30 million purchase option on Marcus Rashford will lapse on 15 June, ten days from now. The deadline follows a loan season in which Rashford delivered strong numbers for the Catalan club.
Rashford is currently with the England squad as they prepare for the World Cup. He finished the campaign on a high note after periods of dip in form.
The option was agreed with Manchester United last summer, allowing Barcelona to sign Rashford permanently for €30 million. If the clause is not activated by 15 June, the deal becomes void and any future transfer would require fresh negotiations.
Barcelona have not attempted to renegotiate the existing terms and have adopted a wait‑and‑see approach. Rashford accepted a salary reduction of almost 40% compared with his Manchester United earnings to join the club.
Hansi Flick told Rashford at the end of the season that he remained part of his plans. However, the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for around €80 million has raised doubts about a permanent Rashford deal.
The club must now decide whether to trigger the €30 million clause or let the deadline pass and lose the favourable terms already agreed with Manchester United.
