Barcelona to receive €400,000 from Altimira's Sporting move

Sergi Altimira is set to leave Real Betis for Sporting Lisbon. Barcelona will receive close to €400,000 in training compensation from the transfer. The payment stems from Altimira’s years in La Masia. The deal could be worth up to €22 million, with Sporting slated to pay €18 million upfront and €4 million in performance‑related bonuses. The bulk of the fee benefits Real Betis. Altimira’s move follows lengthy negotiations between the clubs. Altimira joined Barcelona’s academy in 2012 after moving from Cardedeu. He departed the Catalan club in 2019 to sign for CE Sabadell, then progressed to Real Betis where he became a regular central midfielder. RB Leipzig reportedly showed interest before Sporting secured the signing. Another Real Betis player, Ez Abde, remains linked to Barcelona, which retains a 20 % future‑sale clause.
