Wätjen Campbell Duranville Ramaj to leave Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund will lose four academy players this summer after Kjell Wätjen, Cole Campbell, Julien Duranville, and Diant Ramaj were told their contracts won’t be renewed.
The quartet, aged 20, 20, 20, and 24 respectively, were informed by sporting director Olaf Rebbe that no new deals would be offered.
Wätjen, Campbell, and Duranville are first-team regulars while Ramaj serves as backup goalkeeper behind Gregor Kobel.
All four players arrived at Dortmund as teenagers: Wätjen and Campbell from the youth ranks, Duranville from Anderlecht in 2023, and Ramaj from Stuttgart in 2021.
The departures follow Dortmund’s decision to prioritize younger homegrown talent under Rebbe’s restructuring plan.
Campbell is the only one with Champions League experience for Dortmund, having featured against Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.
