Borussia Mönchengladbach sign Isac Lidberg from Darmstadt 98
Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed on Tuesday the signing of Isac Lidberg from Darmstadt 98. The 27-year-old forward joins Mönchengladbach on a contract valid until 2030.
Darmstadt 98 will receive a reported €3.5 million fixed fee plus up to €1 million in bonuses. Lidberg spent two seasons at Darmstadt 98, scoring 32 goals and providing 10 assists in 63 appearances.
At Mönchengladbach, Lidberg will wear the unusual squad number 3 for a forward. The move ends interest from Benfica, who had Lidberg on their radar.
Lidberg made his first Sweden national team appearance in November during World Cup qualifiers, playing 102 minutes across two matches without scoring. He was not selected for the World Cup squad.
