Camavinga attends Harvard course after France World Cup exclusion
Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has enrolled at Harvard Business School following his exclusion from France’s World Cup squad. The 23-year-old was left out of Didier Deschamps’ 26-man squad for the tournament in North America.
Camavinga confirmed his attendance via Instagram, sharing images from the short course in entertainment, media and sports business. Harvard is located five miles from France’s World Cup training base in Massachusetts, where Les Bleus will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.
France will train at Bentley University in Waltham during the tournament. Their group-stage opponents include Senegal, Iraq and Norway, with the opener scheduled for June 16.
Deschamps cited Camavinga’s season, injuries and intense competition as reasons for his omission. The midfielder made 43 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions despite early ankle issues.
Camavinga has 29 caps for France, including 49 minutes as a substitute in the 2022 World Cup final. This marks his first absence from a major tournament since Euro 2020.
His course at Harvard focused on the business of entertainment, media and sports, according to his Instagram post. The post read: “A few days of learning, listening and growing. Grateful for the experience at Harvard Business School.”
France’s squad includes 29 players, with Kylian Mbappé as captain. Goalkeepers Brice Samba, Mike Maignan and Robin Risser are among the selected names.
