Juan Jesus contract talks stall at Sporting CP
Brazilian defender Juan Jesus is set to leave Napoli on a free transfer next month. Sporting CP's SAD has shown no interest in signing him.
The 32-year-old defender's contract with Napoli expires on June 30. He has featured 68 times for Napoli since joining in 2021.
Sporting CP's director of football, Filipe Chaves, confirmed the club's stance. 'We have no plans for Juan Jesus,' Chaves stated.
Juan Jesus previously played for Roma and Benfica. He has 24 caps for Brazil.
Napoli retain the option to extend talks but face pressure to clear out their squad before July 1.
Free-agent defenders remain a priority for Sporting CP's summer recruitment.
