Two FC Porto Supporters Released After Detention
Two FC Porto supporters who were detained during the club's title celebration have been released. Their release comes with a set of court‑imposed conditions.
The men are required to report daily to the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP). They are forbidden to have any contact with each other or with the victims of the incident. Additionally, they are barred from entering any sports facilities.
The detention followed disturbances that erupted as fans celebrated FC Porto's recent championship win. Authorities intervened to restore order and investigate the participants.
Police officials indicated that the daily appearances are intended to monitor compliance with the restrictions. The measures remain in force until further judicial review.
The prohibition on attending sporting venues aims to prevent any recurrence of disruptive behaviour. Violating the conditions could result in renewed custody.
The case underscores the heightened security focus surrounding major football celebrations in Portugal. Authorities will continue to enforce the rules as the season progresses.
