Fulham manager Marco Silva agrees verbal deal with Benfica
English press reports Fulham manager Marco Silva has reached a verbal agreement with Benfica.
The Portuguese side’s director of football, Rui Costa, confirmed discussions are underway. Benfica’s sporting director, Carlos Moedas, is also involved in negotiations.
Silva’s current contract with Fulham expires at the end of the season. Benfica seek a replacement for departing manager Roger Schmidt.
If finalized, Silva would replace Schmidt at Estádio da Luz. Benfica aim to conclude the deal before the end of May.
Fulham’s sporting director, Alastair Mackinlay, is aware of the approach but no formal offer has been made yet.
Silva guided Fulham to a 12th-place finish in the Premier League this season.
