Oliver Glasner Eyes Fairytale Exit After Leipzig Final
Oliver Glasner will leave Crystal Palace after the Conference League final on Wednesday. He addressed fans at Selhurst Park on Sunday, saying the best day is still to come in Leipzig. The match is against Rayo Vallecano for the trophy.
Glasner described his departure with humor, noting he no longer needs to agree with chairman Steve Parish. He recalled Parish's claim that the FA Cup final was the best day.
Last season Palace won the FA Cup, giving Glasner a second trophy in 12 months. Earlier this season the team suffered a shock FA Cup defeat to Macclesfield.
Glasner criticized Parish for selling captain Marc Guéhi to Manchester City, accusing him of abandoning him. He urged supporters who cheered his name at three Wembley trips last year to stay humble.
If Palace defeat Rayo Vallecano, Glasner will finish his tenure with a third trophy in 12 months, a fairytale ending unlikely in January.
