Demichelis Says He Wants to Stay at Mallorca
Martin Demichelis, the head coach of Real Mallorca, said he wants to remain at the club after the team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Levante UD. The comment came in the immediate aftermath of the loss, with the possibility of relegation hanging over the club.
Demichelis declared that he is “the first one who wants to stay here,” referring to the Mallorca bench. He positioned his intention as a personal commitment rather than a collective one.
The coach added that he is happy at the club and that the board has given him freedom to work. He highlighted that this autonomy is a key factor in his desire to continue.
While acknowledging that some players may have ambitions and could seek to modify their contracts, Demichelis said his focus remains on the team. He stressed that individual aspirations should not dictate his decision.
He expressed a clear goal to stay in order to reverse the current situation. Demichelis believes his continued presence can help the club avoid a drop.
Demichelis is aware that relegation to the Segunda División could be confirmed on Saturday. The upcoming match therefore carries significant weight for the club’s future.
The coach’s statement sets a tone for the final games of the season, with an emphasis on commitment and motivation. He will look to rally the squad in the decisive fixtures.
