Demichelis demands greater control at RCD Mallorca
Martín Demichelis, head coach of RCD Mallorca, has publicly stated he wants to remain in charge despite the club's relegation to Segunda División. He reiterated the demand after Mallorca's drop to LaLiga Hypermotion.
Demichelis's contract runs until 30 June, giving him a season-long tenure regardless of division. He made the statement during a press conference before the league change was officially confirmed.
Demichelis, the Argentine, highlighted that the club requires a structural overhaul. He offered to lead the restructuring himself without reservation.
RCD Mallorca's relegation places them in LaLiga Hypermotion, the renamed second tier. The club has not yet issued a response to Demichelis's request for greater authority.
Demichelis expects forthcoming talks with the board to define his role for the next season. The resolution will influence Mallorca's approach in the upcoming second‑division campaign.
