Sevilla transfer for Agirrezabala collapses, goalkeeper returns to Athletic

Sevilla FC's bid for goalkeeper Iñaki Agirrezabala has fallen through. Agirrezabala will remain with Athletic Bilbao after his advisors advised against the move. The Basque keeper had been a long‑standing target of Sevilla's sporting director. The club had identified him as the primary option under the posts at Nervión. Advisors to Agirrezabala recommended rejecting the transfer. Their opposition caused the deal to collapse. Sevilla plans a revolution in its goalkeeping department. The team is currently comfortable with Kostas Vlachodimos but retaining him is practically impossible because of the price tag. Sevilla will now search for an alternative goalkeeper. Athletic Bilbao retains Agirrezabala for the upcoming season.
