Everton and Brighton Target Torino Midfielder Cesare Casadei
Everton and Brighton are reported to be targeting Torino midfielder Cesare Casadei this summer. The 23‑year‑old is a former Chelsea player who spent a season on loan at Leicester before establishing himself in Serie A.
Casadei arrived at Torino from Chelsea for roughly €13 million in February and has featured in 33 league matches, contributing six goals from a box‑to‑box role. His performances have been described as a resurgence of confidence after leaving the pressure of Stamford Bridge.
Everton’s midfield roster contains Merlin Rohl, James Garner, Harrison Armstrong, Tim Iroegbunam, Charly Alcaraz and Kiernan Dewsbury‑Hall, yet the club lacks a dedicated defensive midfielder with Idrissa Gana Gueye’s future in doubt. Talent scout Jacek Kulig labels Casadei as “powerful,” noting his 6 ft 4 in frame and ability to combine defensive grit with forward drive.
Torino have set a minimum price of €18 million for Casadei, with some estimates closer to €30 million, and will begin evaluating official offers in the first week of June 2026. The player’s representatives have indicated his readiness to move, adding urgency to the transfer race.
