Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme Must Hire Notaries for Mail Vote
Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme must hire notaries to certify postal ballots for Real Madrid’s presidential election on 7 June. The vote will be held in Ciudad de Valdebebas because the Santiago Bernabéu cannot host it while Pope León XIV is in Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo has been reporting on the decisive role that mail voting could play in the election. Organisers anticipate a low percentage of in‑person voting on election day.
Spanish election law requires a notary’s signature on each mailed ballot to ensure legality. The Pope’s visit to Madrid forces the relocation of polling stations from the Bernabéu to the Valdebebas complex.
The Valdebebas venue is equipped to receive both postal and limited on‑site ballots. Club members will receive instructions on how to submit their votes by mail through the newly appointed notaries.
The final tally of mailed votes could swing the presidency in Pérez’s or Riquelme’s favor. Results are expected to be announced shortly after polls close on 7 June.
