Florian Thauvin Signs for RC Lens in 2025
Florian Thauvin has signed for RC Lens, returning to Ligue 1 in the summer of 2025. The 32‑year‑old forward joins the northern French club after a varied career across Europe and Mexico.
Thauvin was born on 26 January 1993 in Orléans, France. He began his football education at Grenoble, where he also made his professional debut.
He subsequently moved to Bastia, where he continued his development in Corsica. The stint in Corsica marked a significant step forward in his career.
In 2013, Thauvin transferred to Olympique de Marseille after a protracted dispute with Lille. The move brought him back to the French top flight.
After a spell with Newcastle United, he returned to Marseille in 2017. The second spell at OM preceded his venture abroad.
Thauvin then pursued an adventure in Mexico, adding an overseas chapter to his career. The Mexican experience broadened his playing portfolio.
Internationally, Thauvin has represented France and was part of the squad that won the 2018 World Cup. His World Cup triumph remains a highlight of his career.
