Deschamps Starts World Cup 2026 Camp with Mbappe, Kounde
The France senior team began its World Cup 2026 preparation camp today at 18:00. Coach Didier Deschamps oversaw the session at the Clairenfontaine training centre.
France were runners‑up at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, losing the final to Argentina on penalties. The defeat was decided by a penalty shoot‑out.
Didier Deschamps will leave his role at the end of the tournament. He has been in charge for 14 years.
Eighteen of the 26 called‑up players are already at the camp. Among them are Paris Saint‑Germain forwards Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Barcelona defender Jules Koundé.
Eight of the 26 called‑up players are still absent from the camp. The session will continue as France prepares for the 2026 World Cup.
