Gimenez credits San Siro fans and Kaká as Milan inspirations
Santiago Gimenez praised the Milan supporters and San Siro ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The Mexican striker called the stadium one of football’s most historic venues. He highlighted the fans’ unwavering support during his debut season.
Gimenez spoke to Billboard Italia with rapper Ernia. He described the San Siro faithful as a family that trusts him despite his struggles. “The Milan fans support the team from the first to the ninetieth minute, and before and after the match too,” he said.
The forward recalled his emotional connection to Milan. He grew up supporting the club and now plays there. “Finding myself playing in that stadium that I could only see on television means a great deal to me,” Gimenez added.
He reflected on his first San Siro goal in the Champions League against Feyenoord. “I will never forget it,” Gimenez said. “I remember feeling very intense and conflicting emotions.”
Gimenez named Kaká as his Milan idol. “I have admired him since I was a child,” he said. “We share a deep faith.”
The striker credited Kaká’s influence on his career. He described the Brazilian as a lifelong inspiration. Gimenez’s comments came during a candid interview with Billboard Italia.
