Glasner urges Crystal Palace to win Conference League
Oliver Glasner has urged Crystal Palace to win the Conference League final. Victory would allow the south London club to claim the Europa League place denied after UEFA's multi‑club ownership ruling.
UEFA demoted Palace to the Conference League after determining that John Textor held a controlling interest in both Crystal Palace and Lyon. Both clubs had qualified for the secondary competition, triggering the ownership rule.
Palace entered the season as the FA Cup winners. Their Europa League slot was withdrawn because of the UEFA decision.
The final takes place in Leipzig on Wednesday night. Crystal Palace will meet Rayo Vallecano, marking Glasner’s last match in charge.
A win would restore the Europa League berth for Palace. Glasner’s departure follows the club’s first European campaign under his leadership.
