Union Vote Leaves Barcelona and Real Madrid Players Undecided
The women's game entered a "war zone" after a dispute between the unions representing Liga F players. Yesterday the results of votes in 11 of the 16 professional women's locker rooms were released. AFE secured a majority of the votes in those locker rooms.
Five locker rooms—Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic de Bilbao, Eibar and Badalona—did not cast a vote. In those venues the players retained the right to decide individually.
FUTPRO described the lack of votes as striking. The organization said the situation highlights doubts about the voting procedure.
The unresolved union clash could influence the start of the Liga F season. Both clubs and unions are expected to continue negotiations in the coming weeks.
