Taylor Hinds exits England squad with ankle injury
England defender Taylor Hinds withdrew from the national team squad on Friday after sustaining an ankle injury during last week’s training session.
The 22-year-old, who plays for Manchester City Women, was named in the provisional England squad for upcoming international fixtures but will now miss the camp.
Hinds suffered the injury during a training session at the England camp on May 15, according to staff assessments. Medical staff confirmed the severity requires rest and rehabilitation.
England manager Sarina Wiegman confirmed the withdrawal in a press statement, noting the squad remains unchanged in her selection policy. No replacement player has been called up at this stage.
Hinds has made 12 appearances for England since her debut in 2021. Her absence impacts England’s defensive options for the upcoming matches.
A return timeline has not been provided. England’s next fixtures are scheduled for late May.
