Kieran McKenna to exit Ipswich Town, succession needed

🇬🇧 3 uur geleden
Inspirational coach Kieran McKenna will leave the Ipswich Town dugout for the upcoming season. The club confirmed he will also not occupy the away dugout at Portman Road for now. Mark Ashton and the Ipswich Town board must devise a succession plan, the first in five years. The last Ipswich managerial departure not resulting from dismissal or mutual consent was Sir Bobby Robson taking the England job in 1982. Consequently, younger supporters lack a recent example to gauge the situation. McKenna was linked with an exit after Ipswich secured promotion to the Premier League. He had previously adjusted his playing style to be less 'swashbuckling' following the prior relegation campaign. Reactions to McKenna's exit can be heard on the Blue Monday Podcast, where Craig Finbow discusses the news with BBC Radio Suffolk. Richard Woodward also contributes to the podcast analysis.
