Prosecutors Seek 10.5-Year Sentence for Rafa Mir
Rafa Mir, 28, appeared before the Provincial Court of Valencia yesterday on charges of alleged sexual assault and bodily injury. The Ministry Fiscal is seeking a prison term of ten and a half years, which Mir denies.
The hearing lasted almost seven hours. Testimony was heard from witnesses and all parties involved.
Judge Pedro Castellano, who presides over Section Four of the court, will deliver a ruling. The decision will determine whether the requested sentence is imposed.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of ten and a half years under Spanish law. A conviction would result in a lengthy prison term.
The outcome will affect Mir’s professional future, as he is currently an active footballer. A verdict is expected in the coming weeks.
