LFP crowns Ousmane Dembélé's strike best after vote fix

The Ligue de football professionnelle (LFP) announced on 25 May that Ousmane Dembélé's goal was selected as the season's best by supporters. The decision followed a fan poll to identify the most beautiful Ligue 1 strike. Dembélé received just over 2,000 votes. Rennais forward Mousa al‑Tamari had initially been reported with more than 100,000 votes. The LFP corrected the results because of voting inconsistencies. The correction reduced al‑Tamari's tally and elevated Dembélé to the top spot. Dembélé, a Paris Saint-Germain attacker and Ballon d’Or winner, now holds the award. The accolade recognises the most aesthetically impressive strike of the season. The LFP said the error stemmed from a technical glitch in the online voting platform. It pledged to audit the system before the next season's fan awards. Future polls will feature stricter verification to avoid similar discrepancies. Supporters can expect a more reliable voting process for upcoming Ligue 1 honors.
