Lincoln City keeper Jamie Pardington signs two-year contract extension

🇬🇧 3 uur geleden

Goalkeeper Jamie Pardington, 25, has signed a new two‑year contract with Championship side Lincoln City, confirming his stay at the Imps as they re‑enter the second tier after a 65‑year hiatus. The deal was announced as his previous agreement was set to expire, having been signed after he left Cheltenham Town in 2024.

Pardington was approaching the end of his earlier two‑year contract with Lincoln City. He originally joined the Imps on that deal after departing Cheltenham Town in 2024.

In the past two seasons he accumulated loan experience with non‑league sides. Those clubs were Peterborough Sports, Telford United, Oxford City and Kidderminster.

He has featured twice for Lincoln City's first team. Both appearances came in the EFL Trophy competition.

Sporting director Jez George explained the club's view, saying, "While Jamie could have left to pursue playing opportunities in non‑league or to be a number two for a club in League One or League Two, we are really pleased that he has decided to stay." George emphasized the importance of retaining homegrown talent.

George also confirmed that Pardington will serve as the Imps' third‑choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season. The club aims to solidify its squad as it returns to the Championship.
